Selbu village museum
Located in downtown Selbu, near the Selbu church. "Selbu Bygdemuseum", the village museum, is home to a large collection of objects representing the core of a rich cultural history in the field of craftsmanship. For more than 300 years, Selbu had - among other things - a highly successful millstone industry in the mountains, at one point employing as many as 300 working men in the winter months.

Selbu museum of knitting
is located in the same building.
The museum of knitting shows the history of the knitting craft, dating back to around the year 1850. Selbu-knitting is an important part of Selbu's cultural history, with Selbu mittens and the Selbu rose pattern being familiar to most! Traditionaly, Marit Emstad (born Guldseth in 1841) is held to be the inventor of the Selbu knitting style. At 16 years of age, she knitted her first pair of "two-thread mittens" with a complete rose pattern adorning the whole of the mitten. Today, the Selbu rose has become a world-renowned trademark of Selbu.

Radio museum
This collection contains a wide range of objects related to Norwegian radio history. The main focus is on Edda Radiofabrikk AS, located in Trondheim and ranked as the 4th largest radio manufacturer in the post-WWII period. Today, Edda is the most well-documented radio factory in Norway. The museum also houses a wide range of objects produced by Tandberg, Radionette and Salve Staubo, as well as the remaining Norwegian manufacturers.
The museum is a lively facility, featuring many recordings and music from 1920 to 1970. In addition to the radio section, there is a collection of jukeboxes and records from the glory days of 1940-1960, as well as several different playing machines from the period before radio transmissions were a reality. The museum contains thousands of objects, and is also home to a fully licensed café.


Bromoen
Bromoen is one of the oldest tenant farms in the area. An experience from life on Kvernfjell and the copper works period of Selbu around 1730, as well as the activity in an 1860s tenant farm. Groups are welcome for tours; coffee and "kakakaku" is served.

Kalvåa farmyard
The farmyard of Kalvåa, located a short distance from Selbu (towards Tydal), is a rural professions museum. The farmyard is a reconstruction of an old residential site, and is surrounded by several old buildings, among others a mountain lodge used as a recreation room during the period of millstone extraction.
The farmyard itself has developed into an arena for outdoor plays.

Selbu church
Downtown, you will find the Selbu church, which is more than 800 years old - and one of Trøndelag's largest country churches. The old stone building is home to renowned acoustics, and has been used for concerts and recordings by many famous Norwegian performers. "Road church" open in the summer season.
Selbu church is definitely worth a visit, whether you are looking for religious services, artistic experiences or merely a moment to reflect.



Tydal museum

Tydal Museum is located 40 minutes away from the Selbusjøen Country Hotel. Tydal Museum was opened in 1990. Here, you will find an exhibit depicting everyday life from the late 1800s to around 1960. In addition, there is an exhibit on Armfeldt history consisting of posters with texts, drawings and pictures, as well as objects from the Armfeldt period.
